Contemporary blindstmaped boards reached with modern cloth spines overlaid with paper labels. Half titles in volumes 2 to 5 (only) with an engraved portrait and folding facsimile in volume 1, engraved title page for Leviathan in volume 3, engraved title page for Peloponnesian War in volume 8, folding engraved map as frontispiece, and 46 engraved plates in volume 11. Collates as complete aside from half titles in volumes 1 and all after 5. All boards securely attached, reinforced at the hinges. Bookplate to front pastedown in each volume. Exceptionally clean throughout the text blocks of each volume. First few leaves of the first volume detached but present, these are a little rough at the fore-edges. A few leaves uncut, but generally remains an excellent set. A few pencil marks sporadically in some of the volumes only, these are very light. Volume 6 binding a bit deformed, but stands uniformly with the others on the shelf.
