[(2), frontis, t.p., i-xciv, h.t., 240pp., (2)]; [(2), frontis, t.p., 420pp., (2)]; [(2), frontis, t.p., 430pp., 2pp., (2)].

Contemporary full calf bindings, each retaining its original tooled red morocco label. Bindings a little rubbed but generally very attractive and well preserved, gilt remaining bright. Very minor shelf and edge wear as typical. Boards all very good or better with a few marks and very small areas of loss. Top page edges dulled as typical, other edges very good. Some white staining to top and bottom page edges, not affecting text. Bookplate of Edwin Sandys attached to front pastedown in each volume, else without other bookplates or ownership inscriptions. Endpapers and pastedowns edge toned as commensurate with the full calf bindings. Text blocks mildly toned as typical, but generally internally excellent and free of any foxing, stains, etc. The full text is legible and without loss of sense. An excellent very readable early set of Virgil's works in English, each volume illustrated with a frontispiece.
