Uniform near contemporary half calf bindings over marbled paper backed boards, the spines finely tooled in gilt in compartments between raised bands, the bands also decorated with gilt. One tooled morocco label to volume seven, else the remaining are all present. Bindings rubbed with some minor losses at the extremities. Shelf and edge wear with some bumps to corners. Joints a little rubbed with all boards securely attached. The bindings secure and without shelf lean when placed as a set on the shelf, but volume seven has a very slight shelf lean when placed on its own, but remains vertically stable. Boards rubbed with some minor losses to the paper. The front board of volume six has an old auction label, presumably 19th century which just reads "Lot 110". Binder's sticker to top left of front pastedowns, else without attached bookplates. Text blocks mildly foxed throughout, with heavier foxing to endpapers as typical. The frontis and main title page in volume one are much more heavily foxed, offset, and with the tissue guard slightly torn (closed). Text frequently offset as often, but the text is not without loss of sense. Some damp staining to the upper part of the first approx. 130 pages in volume seven, but never affecting legibility of the text. Foldouts generally in very good condition as pictured, slightly offset.
