Universal History, from the Creation of the World to the Beginning of the Eighteenth Century. By the Late Hon. Alexander Fraser Tytler, Lord Woodhouselee. Six Volumes. Second Edition. London; John Murray; Sold by Thomas Tegg and Son; MDCCCXXXV
(1835).
-------------------
Provenance:
Bookplate of Richard Henry Walwyn with the mottos "Non Deficit Alter" in Latin (another does not fail) and "Drwy Bynwedd Gwaed" in Welsh (through the virtue of blood).
The Walwyn crest is described in the book A General Armoury of England, Scotland, and Ireland by John Burke and Bernard Burke: "on an embattled wall, or part of a tower... a wivern with wings expanded... pierced through the head with a javelin... Mottoes - Non Deficit Alter; and, Drwy Rynwedd Gwaed". The book mentions Henry as the nephew of "Walwyn, of Longworth, esq." and the head of the family. Moreover, Longworth is in Herefordshire, explaining the welsh motto, due to the proximity to Wales.
