-------------------

An attractive New Testament, the King James Version, printed in Scotland in the 18th century during the Scottish Enlightenment. This includes extensive commentary and many other very interesting additions as mentioned on the title leaf, and both volumes are in unrestored condition in their contemporary full calf bindings.

-------------------

Size: 216 x 268 mm (approx., each)

Condition:

Contemporary full calf bindings, rubbed with some losses, tooled red morocco labels chipped. Joints rubbed, cracked, but with all of the boards attached. An attractive set. Shelf and edge wear, losses to corners as typical. A few leaves loose, including the titles of Vol I. Generally reasonably clean throughout the text, mildly toned, some mild spotting, a few small stains, a few dog-eared leaves, but overall a nice example. Various inscriptions to endpapers and pastedowns, one of which dated 1853, extensive pen-testing ink inscriptions to rear pastedown of both volumes. Textually complete, including the Tables, Advertisement, etc, but without the map, as usual, Vol II. without blanks.
