A beautiful set of this desirable edition of Metastasio's Works, complete in 12 volumes, and published in Paris across a two year span between 1780 and 1782.

Condition:
Near contemporary full calf, raised bands to spines with gilt titles in compartments, attractive on the shelf. Gilt heraldic emblems to boards with the motto "J'ai Bonne Cause" which possibly refers to the aristocratic Weymouth collection. Bindings rubbed with the leather a bit dry, wear to extremities, shelf and edge wear. Some staining to a few of the bindings as pictured. Page edges all marbled, top edges dulled as typical. Text blocks mildly toned, sporadic mild stains, but generally very clean throughout, attractive typography with generous margins. A very nice set.
